Introduction by our Headteacher

Welcome to the British Junior Academy of Brussels, a very special place where opportunities abound and individuals matter. The BJAB has a happy and friendly atmosphere, with small classes and supportive pastoral care. We combine the best of British educational practice with the advantages of being in an international setting. We take great pride in the high academic standards achieved by our pupils and the development of personal, social and emotional skills. Such standards are the product of well-motivated children in small classes supported by an extremely professional , vocational and caring teaching staff working closely as a team. Our enthusiastic staff run a variety of extra curricular clubs where children derive enjoyment from a range of activities - sporting, cultural and practical - and are encouraged to learn new skills.

The evident enjoyment of learning by our pupils, which extends to all aspects of school life, is perhaps the most striking feature for any visitor to the school. Our community is lively, creative and caring and alive with positive thoughts. We believe this is highly relevant to our continuing success.

There is much more to the British Junior Academy of Brussels than can be shown on our website. I hope that, once you have read and learnt a little about us, you will arrange to come and see the school in action. You will be assured of a warm welcome, and I will look forward to talking to you in more detail about the ethos of our school.
