About our British school in Brussels

A British school for international children

British school in Brussels : BJAB Welcome to the British Junior Academy of Brussels, an independent British school in Brussels for international children aged three to eleven, from Kindergarten to the 6th year of primary school. The British school was established in 1992 and is a fully accredited member of the Council of British Independent Schools (COBIS).

The British Junior Academy of Brussels lies within easy range of the European Commission, Embassies, NATO and business districts. Many of our pupils have parents working in the area or families living in Brussels and in its area. We are fortunate in having two distinctive styles of building on the site. The Edwardian house provides classrooms for pupils in primary school (Years 1 – 6), a library, French rooms and an ICT suite; whilst the purpose-designed Early Years building provides light and airy classrooms for our younger children, a multi-purpose gym and kitchens.

The 'best' of British education with an international dimension

The British school BJAB combines the best features of British education from the UK National Curriculum with a European and international dimension. The school provides high standards of education in small classes; because of this we are able to give pupils individual attention to a degree not often available in larger schools.

Emphasis is placed on enabling pupils to fulfil their potential in their academic and personal development. We recognise and celebrate the successes of our pupils in every aspect of school life and encourage strong links between students, teachers and parents. The school is recognised for its high standards, stimulating learning environment and its friendly and caring atmosphere.
