The school uniform at the British Junior Academy of Brussels

All children from the Reception Year upwards are obliged to wear our attractive, distinctive and practical uniform; the wearing of a uniform embodies your child's identity as a member of a thriving school community. It also makes life a lot easier for busy parents.

With effect from September 2011, we shall be introducing changes to the BJAB uniform in two phases over a two year period. Please be advised that phase 1 is as follows:

• A school hat, scarf and gloves set will be introduced for the coming autumn term.
• A regulation, navy anorak for winter (and windcheater for summer) are also now included in the School Uniform List.
• The brand / style of trousers, pinafore, swimwear etc. have been specified to ensure that the uniform is standardised. Schoolwear really does come the need for name tags. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with your child’s name.

We are aware that some parents have difficulty finding certain items of uniform. With this in mind we are nominating a preferred local outfitter who has arranged to supply the regulation items not available at the school.

• Clothes are expected to be clean and in a neat state of repair and shoes polished.
• Shirts should be tucked in and jumpers should not be worn around the waist.
• The school reserves the right to advise parents regarding the presentation of their child’s uniform.
• The school cannot accept responsibility for lost items.
